Classic, and it reminds me of a poem I wrote....
Sir Blut-Eisen's Charge
The old king of Riddermark, Fosco the Drunk,
Was besieged in his tower--his kingdom seemed sunk
For the Shield-Wall of Blackadder, one hundred strong,
Encircled his fortress; "It won't be long,"
Gloated Count Blackadder, that odious goon--
"Your crown will be mine, you'll be out of beer soon!"
But hark! From the west rode a Knight on a horse,
Blut-Eisen of Riddermark (our hero, of course)
Had come forth to rescue his poor foolish king;
But how could a lone knight pierce the iron ring
Of a shield-wall of spearmen, full one hundred strong?
Well, you shall soon learn if you but heed this song!
Blut-Eisen's steed, Pinkie, was valiant and tall,
And she did not fear the spears--no, not at all!
For, like her master, in armor she fought,
With her four hooves on roller-skates the knight had bought!
Blut-Eisen couched his lance and lifted his shield:
"Onward, Pinkie!" he cried and they vaunted the field
With a clinking and clanking and clattering noise
Which filled the king's heart with This one involves a similar siege...
