Hello there, eh got a question, how did you made the picture to be 50x50 pixil only? I mean, I try to do the same (normal drawing then make it small manually as with the tool of the drawing program) but then it becomes all blurry... not as clean and pretty as your icon at the moment XD , if you do answer, thanks!!!! and if not.... well.... good drawing!!! : 3

you have to make sure the colors are solid and the differences between them are clear, otherwise your icon will be hard to see!
also, in the case of faces, you have to make them big enough in relation to the canvas. do not fear if the hair or part of the ears, etc get cut by the limits of the canvas!
the technique for resizing is exactly that, drawing normally then resizing it to 50x50. but don't do it manually. go to edit> canvas size [or change resolution, etc] and put 50 x 50. doing it by hand can make it a problem.
