template from here! [link]I tried to limit the artworks used here to Blackbird art, but as I drew less and less over the years I was forced to use a lot of commission art as samples )': ironically I think I have enough RO art to make an RO version LOL
I won't call this an improvement meme for my own case. My art progress is not linear; it's full of change. Sometimes for better, sometimes for worse. There must be a more efficient way to getting better, but this process of discovery is just as valuable an experience to me.

the oldest drawings here are the oldest files I have, not the first drawings I've ever done. I started drawing for when I was in first grade so even though I didn't study it hard, I drew for a long time. And recently I draw a LOT everyday because it's my job now, so I most likely get more practice than you. I also probably think more than you when I draw, if you feel like you're not getting any better. You need to think a lot when you draw and ask yourself a lot of questions whenever you see good art, like how would you draw the same thing, what kind of tools can you try to do the same thing, what is it that makes other people's art good. Think lots and practice lots and you will become better.

I think that you only could put the real oldest drawings. Unfortunately I don't had opportunities like you and I haven't full time for draw, my university isn't art, and it don't give money in my country, I never had classes and I don't have money to it.

You do usually use a few layers right?
for example, skin tone, and the darker skin tone/shade is just one layer so its not error-free on your part?

I used to use more layers but nowadays I use a single layer on the foreground and a single layer for the background, and sometimes I use extra layers for stuff like detailed ornaments just for convenience.

crisp lines usually come from drawing on a really big canvas (for precision), and then sharpening the image when resizing the finished image smaller (to get rid of the blurring that happens during resize)
