Description
I was in the VA hospital waiting room yesterday practically all day waiting on a surgical consult. While waiting I spent entirely too much time doodling gargoyles... and realized it'd been years since I tried my hand at Demona (for such a straightforward character design, she's harder to capture than you'd realize)... it seems I've gotten a bit better at getting her down on paper. Still not perfect, she doesn't have the exact right "feel" but it's closer than ever. Yay for Demona!Related content

Something about the second expresssion makes it look like she broke something important and she's hoping no one noticed, which makes me feel like maybe this is a younger Demona. Don't know if that was the intent, but I like it.

I'm so used to seeing Demona as she is in the top sketch that it was kind of startling to see how you drew her in the other two: made me wonder what she's thinking.

I've always felt bad for Demona. Desperately trying to outrun her own guilt. Blinded by hate. Destroying all that she ever loved with her own hand. I can't help but feel for her, even as I want to put two in her chest and the rest of the clip in her head.
You always do such excellent work, thank you, and keep them coming.

Oh man, I love your take on Demona! The lower left shot perfectly captures her look from a scene in my first fanfiction, "Hearts of Stone". Absolutely love this! Hope you draw more of her

I really love your take on Demona, and she is my favorite character out of gargoyles. Your version reminds me of her younger self when she goes back to try and convince herself to not share the Phoenix Gate and what will happen later on. Also love her hair longer! It really makes her look youthful.

I think I see why, its so rare that we ever saw Demona actually looking remorseful or resigned for more than a few moments, we always see her as the psychotic self deluding crimson demon we all know and love (love might be stretching it).
The crisp clarity of it makes it great to see, definitely good solid work. ^_^

I agree with you, she more difficult to draw than it looks at first glance. Maybe because her eyebrows are hidden by her jewelery so her expressions are cropped... I guess
