Sportacus & Stephanie., ---- You didn't know there was a part 2 did ya? The 'With yous' series seem to be such a popular deviation for LT fans so I'm happy to fill your hunger.Once again, this illustration is another straight off the pages of my work in progress on Sports Candy and I decided I would do this one in a format that I’ve always been quite fond of — One I like to call, ‘bleaching’. You can also dub it as color-wash. And it is basically done with watercolors over pencil or Berol Prismacolor. (In this case that would be the Prismacolor in both black and umber)
In all sense the technique is to reflect the mood.

I'd started at the oldest entries for Sportacus on dA and was moving towards the newest when I found this...I can't begin to tell you how lovely it is--the muted colors, the washed background, how the lines of Sportacus' hair above his neck remind me of Chinese character brushstrokes.
It's so moving, so private...I've added it to my favorites, and will be checking your gallery.

Hahahaha! So funny you would say that cause while I was drawing these out --that and the comic pages, I was telling my oldest that one of the things I so loved about Sportacus was that he seemed to have that 'Squeeeee' factor to his personality. He's just so innocent and child-like that you just want to glomp someone.

Actually I'm honored you would even ask. .. o0; I really am quite serious about that remark.
I've said this before at other places, but the facts still hold true. The very notion that someone could enjoy a character --or a style/technique I have done enough to want to pick up a pencil and to spend that time creating fan art out of it that just really touches me deeply as an artist.
