Sportacus & Stephanie., Unlike the first example posted some months, this illustration is another straight from the pages of Sports Candy and I decided I would do this one in a format that I’ve always been quite fond of — One I like to call, ‘bleaching’. You can also dub it as color-wash. It is basically done with watercolors over pencil or Berol Prismacolor. (In this case that would be the Prismacolor in both black and umber)In all sense the technique is to reflect the mood.

Well you know what? I happen to find that a very appealing quality to have.
I did a few jabs at Robbie & Sportacus even though I had never been fully gung-ho about the pairing, but I did it still because I want to have that full circle quality. Not sure if that makes any sense, but I hope it does. I just know that I always hated that feeling I got whenever a piece of art I slaved over for hours was being ignored by someone just because it violated some personal fantasy rather than just saying anything at all because they are my friend, said they were, and just plain loved the way I drew — Regardless of the content.
