We have to learn both Max and Maya (and ZBrush...and Toon Boom and...sketchup for some reason) I don't particularly have a favorite yet, as I'm just learning most of them. They're all equally obnoxious.

As for animation stills? Meh, nothing worth posting so far. Maybe I'll put up some mini-animations eventually.

ahh. yea... i took a course like that in high school. I liked max better at first, but gradually decided that some of its tools were wasting my time. After putting the time in and learning the shortcuts, maya is much quicker. I haven't played with zbrush much yet. It's one of those things that I keep putting off. Since I'm not taking my core classes yet, I have to teach myself. Maybe here towards the end of break I might put some time into it. Sketchup is retarded. lol. unless you want to model your house on google earth. What did you use it for?

It's ok. post a scrap or something! I wanna see

I keep getting started on projects and then getting sidetracked with work and school. Maybe I should just drop both and put my time where it counts =/

Aah, school. We only used Sketchup in passing because our instructors thought it was pretty cool... which is kinda is, actually. Real simple interface for beginning modelers. As for showing something in 3-D? Eh, I'll see. It's mostly technical so far ^_^.
