Description Hey peoples... been recently inspired by some of the Maschinen Krieger stuff...

I'm surprised i havent really gotten into them before, but after seeing flyingdebris do a design of one of em i checked em out and ive been havin fun drawing off their style etc.

anyway... this was a quick sketch. I set myself a challenge of a sketchy but tight rendering (greyscale) in my alotted time frame of about 2 hours. I achieved my goal. Then after some advice i slapped some colours on it.

Enjoy!

Edit: Tightened the camo paint job and added a little colour to the light of the right hand side...

coma looks a lot better now! looks great
but im wondering about that "blue light" the rim lights dont add that much and on the cable to the rocket laucncher they dont look right. they are to dark and too saturated. also they are then again outlined by the white ghosty stuff you didnt even noe clean up alan you are a lazy lazy man

named, shamed and completely burned! yeah you got me... thats what happens when you get me to add colour to a quick sketch... things get messy and people get killed... or horribly maimed... heck i could have lost an arm!

From the thumbnail I assumed it was a 3D render! Your light and shadow rendering/colouring is looking good man. Getting damn tight!

I pick it up on Saturday! Booyah! (Took their damn time... razza frazza...) Going to upgrade a little and pick up a 55-200mm lens along with the standard 18-55mm lens. The long weekends are a little... oh, who am I kidding? They rock!! LOL Who wouldn't want to only work 2 and a half days a week and only get $200 less than if they were working full time??

But seriously, I'm working on some stuff. I have a photography scholarship I'm applying for with a National Geographic photographer doing a week long trek in Bhutan. I've also started to arrange some restoration work and trying to work on that (bring in some extra cash) and trying to see what I can do about getting some of my fees back from the school.

How have you been?

Oooooh! Canada! My favouritest place in the universe! Well, that's not entirely true seeing as how I've never actually been anywhere outside of Earth and all so that's a pretty big call to make. There could be a place out there where 12 foot blue skinned cat people roam around and stuff and that could be my favouritest place in the universe. As long as I don't have to wear annoying 3D glasses if I'm on their planet that is. If I DO have to wear 3D glasses then it becomes my least favouritest place in the universe right off the bat. Geez... they'd probably charge you an extra $3.00 to be on their planet! What the f***'s THAT about?? Or maybe there's a galaxy far, far away where I too could befriend a giant 8 foot bandolier carrying shaggy dog and fly around in the galaxy's fastest hunk of junk and have awesome adventures! Mind you, it'd be a long time ago and time travel will never happen. Pffft! That's so science fiction!

Where was I...?

Oh, right. Canadia! Woot! Where? When? Why? What? Which?

well... my lovely wife and i are headin to canada for year to work and well... basically just to see what happens. Shes got several relatives scattered all over the country so we will no doubt be prevailing upon them to stay in basements etc. i think we'll be aiming for vancouver.

we really dunno what type of work we'll end up doing but the plan is to head over for a year (leaving end of january). run away to the circus that type of thing. all of our friends are kinda jealous but they've decided to buy houses or have kids or both so its their decision really... so yeah we're being rebelious and running away.

it seems quite rediculous when i really stop and think about it but i think the adventure is half the fun really. if i was able to get an internship or some contract work in a game studio it would be awesome but that prolly wont happen and i'll either be like servin drinks to ski people or cleaning rooms...

oh and btw. your crazy and i like it

Crazy?

Well, yeah. I teach, I have to be crazy. LOL

I've got a couple of friends that I could (sort of) introduce you to who live in Vancouver if you'd like me to introduce you via the magic of the intertubes? I also might be able to rustle up some contacts into the games studios there too - I have a friend who used to work for EA (I think... or it might have been Blizzard...) in the programming side of things in Vancouver. He's no longer there but he might know some people to get in touch with...

Let me know and I'll hit him up.

Erin and I are the same. We're not having kids and we're very happy with the fact that our money is our own. (Some see that as a bit selfish but we're not too fussed.) A lot of our friends have hit 'babybooming' stage and all they ever talk about is how their kid has moved on to doing solid poops and drooling like a mofo. LOL

man... i would love to be able to get work or contract or intern or make coffee in game stuff over there. that would be awesome. I feel funny about prevailing upon people for that type of request but hey if you're offering i would be mental to turn it down. Would they be willing to help out a random dood from australia? so yeah i'd totally appreciate it. but please dont feel obligated.

segway: as in you're not having kids ever? (not to pry) we're planning to eventually but we're just very aware that this type of thing wouldnt happen unless we do it now... oh and im soooooo over the baby talk that happens around our friends with kids.... nooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo although the kids are fun to play with especially knowing that you can just give em back haha
