Shao is a character that belongs to my dear friend Maruuki . I designed him many years ago for her and it was also many years ago, just not that many, that I promised her to redesign him. The lines from this picture were quite old as well, about two years I guess but I'm not sure, and they were unfinished. I think I never finished this back then because the lines killed me. I dug this out recently due to a conversation with my friend and actually quite liked what I did with the lines back then. So I decided to finish this. I wouldn't bother finishing the lineart though, just slapped everything onto one layer and painted all over it. I hope you like it. XDAlso it's funny how I was able to draw fullbodies two years ago and can't draw a proper stickman nowadays. lmao

I love your take on the redesign! It's probably bias to say since I can only see a cropped view of the older version, but I think the redesign is much more well balanced. The red accents stand out better and the extra colors of blue and gold really adds variety to it!
Also your colors are so gorgeous!! I love the way you paint fabric and hair texture. Especially those braids, they look so soft and luscious~ And I love the various shapes of the accessories, specially that belt/sash. It really emphasizes the overall silhouette of the design and the details look really cool!^^

There isn't much more to see to the cropped version. His red pants end in a similar fashion to the redesign and he's wearing black loafers. I think it had too much white in it. I am glad to hear the colors are better balanced now.
