May I ask you a question? I also make a cosplay of Serenity but I have problem with my perruke, It's completely matted ; it's much longer than yours but can explain to me how you take care of yours?

There are different ways to save long her. Some Cosplay brush their wigs while wearing them before taking photos. Other use hairspray to keep it in style. I'm using conditioner (I use the one for normal human hair) und brush ist gently.
Maybe you try one of these methods and find your best version
(Or maybe search for a tutorial but I only know tutorials for after-conventions :/ )

Hair Conditioner makes it easier to chomp your wigs like its easier for human hair.
