Description A new griffin mask, this time with an oxidized iron and blue pewter finish. The surface texture of this particular mask, made from a thicker section of leather than my usual pieces, looks a little like pitted metal or worn stone. Makes me think of a gargoyle or an old door knocker.

Great piece..nicely finished...the eyeglass effect..is that.. from the forming mould..or is that framing inside ?

Thanks! By eyeglass effect, do you mean the raised ridges around the eyeholes, that lead out into the feathers? I get that effect by pinching the leather between my thumb and finger, and shaping it at different stages while it's drying. I hand-sculpt all the masks from leather, so there's actually no mould used, and no framing inside at all.
