Here is the cake I baked for my Halloween party! It's a dark chocolate cake forsted with orange buttercream icing and finished off with dark chocolate ganache (yay swirly patterns... they go round and round and round and... I'll stop now.).

I wanted to make a two-tiered cake, but that didn't work out. Initially I baked what I like to refer to as a shit-load of cake (the batter weighed 4 kilograms - I checked), but the texture was too soft and moist to sculpt into the smaller tier I wanted to put on top. I ended up making a seperate, smaller cake which I just drizzled with ganache and gave to The Boyfriend to take home to his commune. Unfortunately I don't have pictures of it, but I think it looked kind of cute in a Halloween-ish way.

Anyway, it tasted verrrrry nice (even if I do say so myself) and I loved piping those swirls. I draw them everywhere, so it makes sense that I finally put them on a cake.
