this tie seems designed to give tunnel vision to its pilot. otherwise cool design!

also why does a long range scout only have one crew with no droid or anything? seems counter-intuitive.

Much better than the canon 'Kylo Ren's TIE Fighter' in TLJ.

Always wondered, what the heck is Father and Son and the Suns infinities? If I had to guess you're GM for some crazy, wacky Star Wars tabletop RPG.

It's an alternate timeline setting, where at the crucial moment of the Sidious/Windu duel, Anakin sided with Mace and took down the Dark Lord of the Sith.

It looks really cool
More over: it does not have the aerodinamics of a brick in the atmosphere

Oh, now this is interesting! I wouldn't have thought of mounting lasers above the cockpit like that, but it's a relatively simple solution for upping the firepower while still keeping it tightly concentrated. Does this mean the pilot has to enter and exit the vehicle in a manner other than via a top hatch?

whycouldn't they've had something like this in the new movies instead of those retextured Tie/LN's?

Because Abrams had a bad case of nostalgia goggles, hence why we got X-Wings and Tie/LNs with different coats of paint and some barely noticeable greebles. It may sound like nitpicking, but the lack of new fighter designs is one of my biggest complaints with TFA. I can kind of understand the Resistance using X-Wings, as they were equipped with old surplus New Republic tech. But the First Order still using Tie/LNs? A high-tech military junta with the resources to build 60 km wide dreadnoughts and planet sized superweapons? Sorry, not buying it. Heck, I would have preferred retextured Tie Interceptors, as those were at least more advanced than standard Tie/LNs.

I'm glad I found people with the same opinions as me; My biggest disappointment with the new movies is the lack of new space- and land-craft, which was one of the most enjoyable aspects of the older films (and why I always wanted to get Lego sets of them).

X-Wings are understandable yes. In the old EU they were using modified T-65's and the XJ series, but the Tie L/N saw its end with the solidified empire. Some were captured and used for the New Republic. The Imperial Remnant had to outsource for other fighters since they could no longer produce them. In fact the company that produced the TIE's started producing fighters for all buyers.
The New Republic had the Aleph Class Starfighter. There were TIE fighters in the New Republic!
