Description The retail version of the DVD is further proof positive that if a fantastic theatrical poster is created for a film, no one can be bothered to do something logical like PUT IT ON THE F***ING DVD CASE.

"The black bars are normal, hello!"

This is wonderful. It captures the feel of the story perfectly.

Awesome work as usual. I love the advice concerning the black bars in widescreen.

It's a great cover, truly dramatic and far more interesting than the perhaps inevitable, "sell it with huge stars' heads visible six feet away from the video store shelf" versions. Yet I have to ask:

~ If this front cover was, indeed, a theatrical-release poster, where on Earth was it used? I mean that literally. It wasn't used, as far as I can tell, anywhere in North America, or I'd have run across it ... and I scoured the Net and other sources for "Stardust" art.

~ Where can I download a larger version, so I can print this out on the photo printer to wrap it around my own DVD? {wicked grin ... a note would be fine}

Oh, and I, too, loved this movie. Fourteen viewings (11 in theaters) should prove that.

The front is actually a totally custom setup; there was no theatrical poster that looked like that. I was only mentioning the poster in regards to how they "adapted" it for the DVD cover.

Ah! So did you adapt an existing landscape / starscape photo for that front cover, or did you create it yourself?

The stars sell the movie, that's an unfortunate economic fact of video life ... but at least their inferior cover effort made the huge heads less ponderous than in their initial version. If Paramount were astute enough to hire someone like you, their DVD sales might not be flatlining.
