Beezie is a newer addition to Cathy's string, a fortunate incident that she was given the ride on this very experienced mare. They've taken about a year of 3-4* competition and a summer of Dressage Bootcamp (in the form of a prolonged Coronavirus lockdown) to get to know each other, and now they're testing out 5* waters for the first time as a pair. (Both of them already having experience at the level.)
Cathy is happy about Beezie's natural ability to carry herself well. She might not be a flashy mover, but she's correct: very balanced and moving with ease. Maybe a little too much ease sometimes; if not constantly stimulated, she might drop her hind end and get a bit long and sloppy. She's smart and thinks quickly, and has no problems with the movements themselves, but because of that she has a tendency to get "bored" with exercises that are simpler or she thinks are demanding too little of her.

Ok, so.
Since "most" of my story worlds are placed in the real world, including everything that's happening right now, I'm tentatively treating this as, like, the first big international competition since Coronavirus ground the equestrian world to a standstill. Flights would be allowed again and in my canon, the competition would probably happen with hygiene measurements, no spectators, etc. This is part of the reason why I'm not going to write a story, since I have no actual idea when this would be realistically possible again and also I don't wanna impose my canon on a show that isn't necessarily meant to share the same universe. xD Hypothetical future events n' stuff.
(other reasons for no story are, I have absolutely no time right now and I couldn't even find anything in the show rules saying there needs to be one anyway. xD)

I chose the sooper textured paper again - it might look less "detailed" but I actually find it to be harder to work with. What looks like messy no-detail shading is a very deliberate and careful layering of colours. I've had the privilege of working with the full set of Polychromos for the first time, and even though I couldn't quite replicate the colour palette I'd planned digitally (it was a little fresher but the contrast and readability was even more of an issue xD) I'm starting to be more and more okay with the result. Maybe red violet or some more violet in general would've made it look a tad more exciting....hmmmm
