The fact that it's standing on quarts makes it look even cooler!

awww thank you so much! I'm really glad It seems a lot of people don't quite.. GET them haha. They are just REALLY hard to photograph. They are so reflective a lot of the detail usually gets lost.

I did wonder, some of the details are lost to the reflection of the wire. As for the setting and background, I think you've done a lovely job, particularly the one where the dragon is stood on the stone.

Have you tried investing in or making a light-box? I can't believe the difference in some peoples object photography after using one. There's some tutorials on how to make one on DA (unless you already know how to, of course!) so it could be an option?

Whatever you choose to do, I can't wait to see the results!

I was actually reading about that today, I just worry since my sculptures range in size so much if it would work for me or not. I do really appreciate you commenting! It is so frustrating how so much detail is lost in the photos. I am also getting pissed at my camera, it is sort of new and big, and was supposed to be really good, but it really seems to be sucking, and I've had it too long without being able to use it, to return it... UGH I hope I get some nicer professional pics of it.

Hehe, what a coincidence!
And I can see why you'd worry about the size variation, I'm afraid I don't know enough about light boxes to suggest anything, but from what I've heard perhaps there's a kind of make-shift one that you could make that you can alter in size?

And grr about the camera. Hopefully you'll have some kind of epiphany where you will go 'ahh, the camera makes sense now!' I hope it all works out for you soon

hahah thanks so much, if I DO find a way to make the right sized light box my bf may help me make it haha. Did you see my new dragon I just put up? He is REALLY detailed.

awwwww thanks so much! This one club doesn't think so they are quality controlled which is why I joined, and I really thought they would like this, and thought it was good enough, but I don't know if they will accept it. They rejected my Chinese Dragon, and said it didn't "wow" them.. I mean REALLY?? Then she linked me to all these boring wire essences which is how ALL wire artists do it. I am the only one that does it this way. It's a shame because I REALLY liked her, and her art, but never really spoke to her until my art was rejected from the club.

That's awful But I'm pretty sure it's down to the photography presentation. I can't see how your dragon, or wirework would fail to impress most people. I think all it is is needing better pictures, and perhaps less together eg. Maybe a stack of three to give better impact, as the dragon montage one is a bit busy.

The one thing that does annoy me is linking you to those sites. I mean, if you asked for the advice then fair enough, but it seems really patronizing to do that. People clearly like your style and if that's what you're comfortable with then battle on with it Implying someone should change their style simply because it didn't wow them is very wrong, I think. So much for diversity!

We all love you and the way you do it, anyway ;-P Maybe find some other clubs?

yea I may wind up doing that. I just liked the fact that it is quality controlled but I believe I have that level of quality. I asked if it was the pictures, they said it was the anatomy.. I was like wtf r u serious??? So whatever.. My bf was pretty shocked and thought it was a bit ridiculous too. He has seen how well they sell in the store and stand by my style and creativity with them. I do want some better pics, and I agree about that one being slightly busy. But they are so picky taht I wanted to best show case the object from every angle. It's not like I could submit two parts to the same piece there. Still haven't heard if it is ok to submit. I bet they won't. But we'll see. It just sort of pisses me off and gets me down.
