Description This is my very first desktop screenshot using Windows 7 (I love this new OS ) and my new white Sony VAIO (I love this laptop too ); I hope you like it. I've been planning this screenshot since a long time, but I it took me a while to get used to Windows 7 customization (thanks to the tutorials and help I got at SevenForums) and fix some issues; so here it comes finally

I was going to call this screeny "When Silver Met Purple" but I changed my mind at the very last minute before submitting it because the first title wasn't that original

I featured this screenshot on because it was this dekstop that inspired me to create the group. Also, both the screeny and the group avatar (or "button") have some common "denominators" (elements) that I'll let you discover

Not all the icons need registry editing, but some do; especially the Libraries one. You can find some tutorials here [link]

Nope, because I made that desktop when I got my new laptop with Windows 7 for the first time so I wasn't very familiar yet with all the customization tricks and potential

You're probably right, and the reason is because that was my first ever Windows 7 screenshot and I was still learning how to customize my new Windows version and use the styles...etc

Hi! Congratulations,this desktop looks sooooooo good! i have the same question, where can i find the avedesk icons, and what's the meaning of NFR? (c drive, d drive, walls) and what font are you using for that avedesk icons, greetings.

As for the Avedesk icons, I've already answered the same question below concerning the lollipop and the laptop. The walls icon is part of this set . The drives were made by Olivier Charavel but they are NFR (Not For Release). However, if you make some good research on the web and some customization communities you'll find the drives; or maybe if you ask the right person the right way.

The font I used for Avedesk is Arial -> Bold -> 12

- The lollipop is a mod that you can find in GalaxyGUI (32px Icons Thread)

Just copy the skin into "C:\Program Files\XWindowsDock\Skins" and then select it from the skin list in XWD

Hey are you using avedesk 1.3??? I just got back to 1.3 to make XWD work fine but seems I am unable to make pidl shortcuts... they are not appearing on the desk... can you send me your ave theme file if you are using 1.3??

It has nothing to do with the theme I think, but if the following doesn't work just let me know and I'll send you mine (steps written for Avedesk 1.3):

Open Task Manager and terminate "Avedesk.exe" process
Go to "C:\Program Files (x86)\Avedesk" and double click on "Unregister.bat"
Go to "C:\Users\(UMAR)\AppData\Roaming" and delete "Avedesk" folder
Go to "C:\Program Files (x86)\Avedesk" and delete "Avedesk" folder
Right-click on the taskbar and un-tick "Enable Aero Peek bla bla bla" (disable Aero)
Copy Avedesk installation folder into "C:\Program Files (x86)"
Double click on "Register.bat"
Run Avedesk
Either create a new theme or copy and old theme into "C:\Users\(UMAR)\AppData\Roaming\Themes\" and then load it from Avedesk Control Panel

Sorry for the detailed steps; I know you know how to do most of the stuff there, but I also wrote them for other people who would not be as familiar with Avedesk

So it's basically installing Avedesk 1.3 from scratch AFTER disabling Aero Peek because I've realized that it's the cause of the Avedesk/XWD conflict

Well, that's really weird indeed. I follow the steps I gave you and it works for me. Did you try running 1.3 as Admin?

I guess you'll need to find your own way around this as I did with explorer.exe when I wanted to change my Start Orb

As for XWD 2.0.1, I think I'll wait for the final version (though the author seems to take his time) because I think that the beta one has way too many functional limitations
