Amazing shot! that place looks so big
I just love how you play with lighting, how the light is far away from the watcher's PoV and darkness surrounds you <3

Oh, it was big! Big and quiet, except for the occasional icicle falling to the floor below. Had a few close calls there!

Wow! I have to ask--how the heck to do you get IN to these places? I saw an old abandoned cement factory back in Illinois that my fiancee and I wanted to photograph but there were signs everywhere stating that it was private property and that trespassers would be prosecuted, and the signs were fairly new-looking and had no contact information.

To get in these places you need to prepare and make sure you know what you're getting into, because as you mentioned, most abandonments are off-limits. It goes without saying there is risk involved, both in the form of legal consequences and possible injury- or at worst, death. I guess you have to be a little insane to do this regularly, but I like the feeling of adventure; much like I assume a rock climber or mountain biker does.

If you're still interested in this sort of thing, network with some local explorers and get your feet wet. Try the website UER. Lots of good info there.
