I saw a demonstration of Capoeira a while back, and I was thinking that Avatar could use it! It's not Asian but it's a martial art.
I really know nothing of Capoeira, not a thing; I tried it once and I’m still kind of sore. I don’t know what kind of skill level I just gave them with their belt colors or if the poses have any basis in reality, but in spite of it all I’m some what proud. 
Dang wouldn’t it be so cool if they did this in the show!!!!You know that Zuko and Sokka will be highly competitive, and Sokka has got to work out and get some muscles on him so he can be as hot as Zuko.
This isn't exactly what I wanted it to look like, and it isn't exactly an anatomical triumph either, but it still makes me giggle!
I will never ever spend this much time on a drawing ever again!!! I mean it's alright when it's like an expression of your soul or something, but when it's just a passing mood... nah not worth it, not even close.

You know, I think I heard somewhere that Capoeira was actually used in that one scene where Aang and Katara are dance fighting in their fire nation outfits. I'd have to see it again to say for sure though...

Blue is in the intermediate levels and red is the highest (that's the system my capoeira teacher uses, anyway)
The poses are kind of awkward, but otherwise the lines were done nicely. n-n

I too thought of inserting capoeira into Avatar... if I had to match it with a bending art, I think it'd look best with Firebending. Teehee
