Haha exactly! And, you create an atmosphere and a story just with the colors and lighting of the background. ;u; with characters only, that's kinda difficult. But, yea it takes patience orz.

That's so true!!! Lately I haven't been doing many backgrounds but now I'm trying to do that I csn speed up my process for them. I hate having to draw more than one of the same thing. Even if you copy and paste it and just alter it a little it still annoys me. XD oh well at least I'm trying lol.
The backgrounds that I hate doing are flower gardens and buildings XD

Haha I totally agree with you with the copy and paste, it makes the elements a little bit unnatural because they look too alike, but at the same time, if you draw them one by one, they might look too different and that's weird too ...backgrounds are complicated.
I love doing flower gardens....in an impressionism painted way lolol, no time to waste doing all the little details, just dabbing with the custom brushes is already tiring hahaha

Exactly!! Another problem I have with backgrounds is that I'm not good with blending the character into the background because the way I shade hair, clothing, skin, objects each have their own distinct coloring style. You can easily see that in my latest anime drawings. I don't try to do that it just happens XD but then somehow it manages to blend together.

i mean i an I like doing flower gardens but with my style it looks weird to use the custom brushes.. But I'm gonna try to see if I can find a good custom brush that will fit.
But lol yeah I don't have the time to do details either. Lately I've had less time to draw my own stuff that isn't school or commission related. 
That and me and my friend have been spending a quite of bit of time searching for artists to replace artists that don't respond or decline to the invitations to the artbook It's a pain when you're waiting for a reply in anticipation XD but at least we almost have half of the artists recruited :3

Thanks! For the leaves shadows, I used a around 50% opacity Multiply layer and airbrushed dark grey with a custom brush. Then, I erased some parts with the same custom brush to amplify the light parts. And yep, I dabbed with a custom brush for the flowers.

Maybe if you try to manually install them then it might work, that's what I had to do. There's tutos on DA for that.
