Phew! Just made it

My second part of the 's Summer Event: La Soldier! Sera Myu Musical, Crystalize! This time, I did the old style

Please bare with me as I have NO IDEA what to write for this, so I basically made a fake profile for Ann Marie if she was an actress in the Myu

I included links to the songs in the profile also tried to link ones with subtitles

Favorite Food: Puff pastry (any!), deep fried pickles.
Place You'd Like to Go on Vacation: Italy! Would love to learn authentic Italian cuisine.

OK SO. This is my old!Myu styled image for the Sera Myu seasonal task. I actually started this BEFORE the group shot, but finished it last since...um...less people to deal with I did her in the traditional ending pose for La Soldier here, to counter the group shot, where it's the ending pose for Ai no Starshine. I WAS going to have this also on a stage, but then I'd realized that would look silly on her own. also I didn't want to deal with confused stage lighting again.

So! I based it on the solo images from the program books You can see a good example here: seramyuantics.net/images/moon-… .

I expect Piggie would be very bouncy on stage! She'd def. be the bounciest character on stage, jumping around and chittering a lot. Sadly, none of the old or new myu actresses are overweight (but, then again, being overweight in Japan is WAY more of a social stigma then it is here), so I'm not exactly sure who my ideal actress would be for her. Going strictly by the old Myu, it would probably be Kudo Aki, who played the 2nd Mimete ( youtu.be/UAnse6-qAsI ). Not the BEST singer, but god she is so. Happy and bouncy. She also played Iron Mouse after this!

Your first thought may be: "But Shuu! Why are all of the colors off?! "

Well, my friend, prepare for me to ramble a lot about this goddamn costume.

Now, disclaimer: I have made the old Myu fuku 4 times, and am working on a 5th. Mine aren't 100% accurate (I don't do the foam padding in the bodice or the horsehair braid in the skirt - aka the thing that makes their skirts SWOOSH at the bottom), but I know a faaaair bit about them

One thing about the new Myu, they basically use the same fabric for most everything. Bows? Same fabric. Top skirt, collar, glove bands? Same. Actually I think the bodice is the same material as the skirts! But, the old Myu? EACH PIECE WAS DIFFERENT FABRIC. And me, being the totally nutso and accurate freak that I am, did that with this image. I literally pulled images from the internet of each type of fabric, and used them as references for the colors.

I also tried (key emphasis on TRIED) to shade fabric a bit more...accurately? The cotton of the skirts is softer, while the high-lustre Lame (bows) and vinyl (boot covers) I made sharper with highlights. Still not perfect, but def something to improve upon! I also used some textures in Photoshop, but otherwise the rest is all me.

And yes, that IS what old!Myu trim looks like. And yes, I did hand draw all of that. (also that is a REAL color of that type of trim! )

Yes her wig is bright, obnoxious orange But if Moon and Venus get friggin' dayglow yellow wigs, PIGGIE GETS BRIGHT ORANGE. I also didn't color her eyebrows or eyes, since if she WAS played by an actress, she'd have natural brow and eye colors. No one colors their brows or wears contacts in either old or new Myu, hence that XD I also realize the gems should be between her eyes and brow on her forehead, but I also wanted to simulate her tiara. The "gems" on her body, though, would be body paint. In hindsight, I should have not inked them Also no freckles, since you probably couldn't see it from the floor anyway. This is why Myu is so shiny

Overall, I'm...really happy with this? Especially with how GD EXHAUSTED I've been as of late I think I've leveled up since the last time I drew Sera Myu! Also feel more comfortable drawing this in my normal style, since it's kinda half-anime half-comic by now anyway? IDK man

So squishy and happy.
