Samhain! Halloween! All Hallows Eve!This is intended as a Halloween gift for =temiel . Happy Halloween, and thanks for keeping me company on dA this year.
It is more or less a attempt to do a mocking version of this:
Yep. A horrible rendition to take one of her principal OCs and turned in them into a undead monstrosity. Exactly my favorite way to enjoy the Holidays...
Now I'm off to go draw more mockeries...

I really like that dress. Its design- eck. Sounded a little too weird saying that.
Yep. I've been thinking about a zombie/skeletal Rian for awhile now. It was a matter of thinking and coming up with a nice image to steal from, you know?
Ach, so many holidays, only a couple Dias de Los Muertos a year. Gotta keep the undead goin'.

The way you adapted the drawing is very well done. I really like how you had an eye or the little details, like the hat and the jewelry, but still gave your own twist to it, making it a part of this picture. The colors all seem to be quite the same in this piece, yet you still have enough subtle differences to make the shading and highlighting work, well done!
One minor point of critique might be that your line-work sometimes shows some hesitation, instead of one fluent line. However, I think it really helps enhance that dead skin-effect, if that makes sense? The textures you used really add a nice background to it all and the way you inked it with bold lines at certain places really helps make this piece stand out. All in all, this is beautiful work and very Halloween-appropriate!

Yeaaah.
Played with the colors a lot to get it to that point. And my lines are my obsession. It always twists in a Mignola fashion. Or I subsciously try to copy it.
Either way, I love the hell out of lines like that. Jagged and expressive. My abstractive half creeping into my realistic half, you know?

It's great that you have a role-model, it gives you something to strive for. And the lines are indeed expressive to say the least. I think it might just be me who needs some getting used to that way of expressive drawing.
