For one of your early drawings, this turned out great! The paper gives it a really nice effect. Again, the posistioning of the eyes bothers me a bit, I've said how much you've improved from then until now, but it's amazing to see a traditional Peach picture in your gallery (I don't have anything against digital BTW, in fact, that's my primary medium now)

She's a bit skiny and her eyes are a bit mis-placed, but other then that this is a fine piece of art. She is very pretty and you had great talent then just like you do, though it's obvious you've improved.

Ah yes. I remember seeing this on Cheep productions; it is from 2003! However this version looks like it's been improved with the lineart; it looks clearer to see than the other version. And that's A LOT of detail you've got there for lineart. Alas, I think your current lineart scheme is much bette; it looks more realistic.

For something that's old, it looks very detailed, and that's a good thing. I agree, that she is looking at the viewer in a very creepy way, but other than that, there's nothing bad about it. *looks at the very bottom of the pic* Are those creases?

SigurdHosenfeld In reply to Rainoshi [2005-04-12 00:24:26 +0000 UTC]

Thanks!Yep, these are creases, the sepia sheet was original from the 19th century o_o

Wow she is so pretty there!~
Look at her hair, and the face! It makes her to look calm and serene and it seems she is looking towards us! I like that kind of look!
Her outfit is awesome, I'd never be able to draw like that XD; But this is really, really nice. I don't think it's so different of your current style because both are very good! well I guess I talked too much XD; Keep up the great job!

That's so pretty! I love the way she looks as a Victorian lady. You did an awesome job on this one I especially love how you did the bodice, it's so detailed and pretty! In fact, the entire dress is gorgeous; it looks like something right out of the 1880's or 1890's. btw, how did you do the background? I've been using ink to dye it, but that tends to wrinkle the paper. This is so freakin' awesome, you should do more pictures in this style! Maybe you could do one of you and Peach in a Victorian style...

SigurdHosenfeld In reply to Evilbutterfly666 [2005-04-09 01:32:54 +0000 UTC]

Thanks!Nice observation, the original title of this artwork was "1884 Peach"
I did this one using my usual ink pen and an old sepia sheet that I found on my archives.Hehe, that victorian idea really inspires me

how old is she if she's been around since 1884/more importantly how she still looks so young?

Evilbutterfly666 In reply to SigurdHosenfeld [2005-04-11 14:59:09 +0000 UTC]

You're welcome That's cool that I could guess the decade like that Hahaha I know very few people who can identify 19th century styles right down to the decade, so I think it's awesome that you did this with one particular year in mind. I love using ink pens too-- mine is an antique one There's something about using an actual bottle of ink instead of a modern pen that I love. Hehe that would be cute if you used that idea

👍: 0 ⏩: 2

SigurdHosenfeld In reply to Evilbutterfly666 [2005-04-12 02:21:37 +0000 UTC]

yes, not everyone can guess an especific decade of the 19th century with such precision
Hey, I use an antique pen too for some of my best drawings , it works very well (I think that it is from the early 20th century)That's a nice idea too.

Evilbutterfly666 In reply to SigurdHosenfeld [2005-04-12 02:42:47 +0000 UTC]

True! Hahaha one time I was showing my old photos to my ex-boyfriend (this was when we were going out) and he actually said, "Oh, I didn't know they HAD any styles back then." >_< I'm also familiar with styles from the time because I have so many magazines from the 19th century-- if you ever want to look at pictures from them for inpiration, I can scan some of them for you. They're so pretty, I wish dresses like that would come back into style!

That's so cool that you use an antique pen too! I use mine for drawings and also calligraphy. One time I did about 100 invitations by hand for a formal party. It took forever but it was so worth it I think my pen is from the early 20th century too.

SigurdHosenfeld In reply to Evilbutterfly666 [2005-04-12 02:46:27 +0000 UTC]

Hehehehe, you are lucky to still have these magazines.100 invitations by hand?Wow, that's impressive

Evilbutterfly666 In reply to SigurdHosenfeld [2005-04-12 03:27:00 +0000 UTC]

I know, I was so excited when I found those in the attic No one else even knew they were there. They're very fragile and falling apart, but it's still fun to read them. Hahaha I did those invitations over a period of several days so it wasn't too insane, plus they were the ones with the lines to fill in. But then it was time for the envelopes @_@ But now you know I do commissions if you ever want calligraphy for something...

Evilbutterfly666 In reply to SigurdHosenfeld [2005-04-15 11:54:09 +0000 UTC]

Heh, the funny thing was that I didn't want to be too loud about it but I was also super-excited to begin with since that was the same day I found the Dagguerrotype photographs. That was an amazing day for finding stuff. You should have seen me when I tried on that Victorian dress too; that was funny to watch because the lady who owned the store was super excited to see someone wear the dress for the first time. That reminds me, I still need to rustle up $500 and buy that dress...
