A cook's apprentice from the village of Seles. Waylaid by bandits and left for dead after running away from home, Abel awakens in an abbey in the nearby town of Hokes. There, he learns that he is a Hero- a champion of the gods- and more worryingly, that the Overlord, master of all monsters, has returned once more to threaten mankind. Instructed to travel to the holy city of Lescatie, and receive the blessing of the Church before embarking on his mission to slay the Overlord, Abel then sets out into the wide, unknown world. Though empowered by a transfusion of angel's blood that saved him from certain death, will this power be enough to overcome the enemies he will face? And perhaps more importantly, will it be enough to save him from his own self-doubts?

It's been a long time since I've drawn up a character. But since I'm working on a new story, I figured it wouldn't be a bad idea to have an image of what the central cast looks like. And, as the first character we're introduced to, I naturally started with the eponymous Blue.
In the earliest drafts of the story, Abel's name was actually Vincent, and though his name would be changed later, it would be some time before I had a good idea of what he would actually look like. Eventually, I took inspiration from Adol from the Ys series, right down to having his hair and eye color , though being native to the MGE world's analogue to Anatolia/North Africa/the Levant, he always had darker skin. He would later take elements from Eureka Seven AO's Ao Fukai, namely in his later hair color, eye color, and in how they changed to their current state once his potential is awakened, and a few other minor elements from DanMachi's Bell Cranel.
