I've been on DA for about 5-6 years now, and I have seen a disturbing amount of fanart/fanfics shipping each of these characters with a young person from their fandom; Basil with Olivia Flaversham, Waul with Tanya Mousekewitz, and Rarity with Spike. These fanworks tend to ignore one key problem with these ships: THEIR PARTNERS ARE F**KING CHILDREN!!! Seriously, Olivia is eight, Tanya is about fourteen, and Spike is a baby dragon with the mentality of a kid less than twelve. No sane person would allow a real life adult to be in a sexual relationship with an underage person; why is it OK to have the same idea in fiction?ΒNow, I am all for kids having cute crushes on adults. Heaven knows I had my fair share of crushes on both adult men and women when I was young. But having said adult reciprocate feelings for the child? To quite Lily Orchard, "now we're heading into 'bad touch' territory." I doubt like heck the creators of these cartoons meant for there to be any romantic/sexual context between these characters and the children, so please, for the love of God, STOP PUTTING IT IN THERE!

FINALLY!!! Someone finally says it. I don't understand why people keep shipping these characters with children. Basil's relationship with Olivia was platonic affection and admiration on Olivia's part. Waul was moved by and drawn to Tanya's singing voice, not in a romantic way. And while Spike had a crush a on Rarity, which was cute, Rarity only held fondness for him and enjoyed the attention, but it wasn't anything to be taken seriously, and was the equivalent of an elementary student having a crush on their teacher.
Now, I'd have no problem with these characters being shipped together if they're the same age, but people keep shipping them together as they are. And Waul/Tanya and Rarity/Spike aren't even the same species.

I ship Tanya with Jerry at young age or Cogsworth at an old age of 18, DO NOT put insult comments because it's bullying. I'd ship Basil with Nellie, and Cat R Waul with NO ONE

That's right! I agree to this! Even I don't ship them with children! It's wrong... well, not quite wrong, but it's gross. I feel disgusted.
