Description
Inorin, a fierce and spirited exorcist, had been navigating the enigmatic world of the supernatural since her days as a high school graduate. Little did she know that her journey into the world of exorcism would begin with a simple accident that changed her life forever.
It all started when Inorin and her friends were exploring an old shrine on a dare. During their escapade, she accidentally kicked a small statue, and that single act seemed to have triggered something otherworldly. From that moment on, Inorin found herself cursed with the ability to see ghosts and spirits that lurked around abandoned buildings and desolate places.
At first, it was a terrifying experience for her, but as a brawler by nature, she soon realized that she could use her newfound gift to fight against these restless spirits. It led her to embrace her destiny as an exorcist, honing her skills over the course of five years. Her encounters ranged from benign spirits yearning for company to malevolent entities capable of causing harm or even kidnapping innocent people.
On this particular day, Inorin received a new assignment: to exorcise an abandoned building with a reputation for harboring sinister secrets. As she approached the building, she felt a sense of anticipation and trepidation. The atmosphere was charged with an eerie stillness, and she knew there was something peculiar about this place.
Stepping inside the abandoned room, Inorin sensed a calmness she hadn't expected. However, her focus was soon redirected as she caught sight of an ethereal figure that seemed entirely out of place – a fish spirit. Curious and intrigued, she cautiously approached the spirit.
"Hey there, little fish spirit. What brings you to this place?" Inorin inquired, trying to maintain a friendly demeanor.
The fish spirit seemed to shimmer with a soft glow as it responded, "I used to be human once, but I reincarnated as a fish. I did it to reunite with my past love, who turned out to be my owner. But as a fish, I can't express my feelings to them."
Rena was taken aback by the poignant story of the fish spirit. Empathy filled her heart as she listened to the tale of unrequited love, trapped in a form that prevented the spirit from expressing its emotions.
"I'm so sorry to hear that," Inorin replied sympathetically. "Is there anything I can do to help?"
The fish spirit's eyes sparkled with hope. "Yes, there is. You see, the person who hired you to exorcise this place is my owner. Please, I beg you, help me communicate with them. Maybe, just maybe, I can finally express my feelings."
Inorin hesitated for a moment, but seeing the earnestness in the fish spirit's eyes, she made up her mind. "Alright, I'll try my best to help you. But how do we go about contacting the owner?"
Before the fish spirit could answer, it swiftly swam towards Inorin and, in a mesmerizing flash of light, entered her body. In that moment, Inorin felt a sudden surge of energy, and her body transformed into that of a mermaid. Shocked by this unexpected metamorphosis, she struggled to understand what had just occurred.
"Now, you can communicate with the owner as a mermaid," the fish spirit explained, its voice echoing within Inorin's mind. "Please, do this for me. I yearn to express my love and be at peace."
Despite the bewilderment that consumed her, Inorin agreed to fulfill the fish spirit's request. However, as she pondered how to approach the owner in her new form, she realized the task would not be as simple as she had hoped.
