Description Update 2: Added his Troika Gun. Had to do a bit of work to get the end result since I couldn't find the original. Probably for the best. I'm sure I could tweak is colors a bit, but for now I'm moving on.

Update: Added Environment stuff thanks to the help of Berserker79 and ShaunsArtHouse to RAAM's Knife/Gear. Now I'm going to do some hunting around for his Troika gun.

Found an already ported RAAM model (thanks to for showing me the original model) so I decided to take a look at his textures. Luckly I had the 'Retro' RAAM textures from Killer Instinct so I was able to give RAAM a texture update. Had to Adjust some UVs on the shoulders and I added RAAM's knife (its also sheathed behind him on his lower back). Still working on textures, I'm not to familiar with texture editing so its quite the task. I need to add a few more maps but for now this is the result. Wish I knew how to do Environments and such to give his knife and armor some reflections.

It’s not a model release sorry. The kryll was ported by my friend ShaunsArtHouse but if memory serves correctly, Coalition studios went around asking people to politely remove their models. So I believe he took them down so he wouldn’t get that message either. Some porters still Have some gears 4 modes up for download so you might find a RAAM model there. No idea about the kryll.

Hey, it's looking really good, nice job giving RAAM this texture update!

As far as I can tell, adding metallic reflections to knife and armor - similar to what Shaun does with his epic (pun intended) ports - basically requires duplicating the relevant mesh and using XPS render group 27 with a suitable transparent diffuse texture. Since I'm not good with texture edits, preparing a suitable diffuse texture is the real pain for me. In essence what you need is the same as the diffuse texture used for the mesh you want to add the reflections, but you want the areas of the texture that should have no reflection to be transparent and those that need to have reflection should be somewhat opaque (how much opaque will influence the amount of reflection you get). Of course, if you have a mesh that you want to be fully reflective, then no need to use a duplicate mesh on top of the original, just set the original to use render group 27 and adjust the amount of reflection parameter.

Hmmmm I'll have to take a look. For some reason I thought it had to be applied in the editor (blender and/or 3ds max) before being sent to xps. Well I guess it does, duplicating the mesh and such.

Well, using blender or 3dsmax is one way to go to duplicate the mesh. However, there are other avenues if you are not familiar with those programs.

I seem to remember a tool called "Mesh.ascii Tools" which might be suitable to duplicate a mesh.

Alternatively, you can manually edit the mesh.ascii file in Notepad (or similar, more advanced program). Just look for the whole chunk of text which is your mesh data and copy and paste it into the file to duplicate that mesh (ofc, the duplicate should be assigned a new name in the first render group line). It's a bit tricky since you can easily mess up things if you miss copying part of the mesh data or paste in the wrong spot, but it's doable and requires no knowledge of blender.

I use 3ds max mainly. So I have an idea on what to do. I'll just have to work on creating the needed textures. Might look at Shaun's ports to get an idea.

Dope. I took a look at your textures on Baird so I think I got the picture. So now I’ll need to do that, double check everything else and then find a big-ass troika turret.

Oh, that's cool! And taking a look at Shaun's textures is definitely a good idea.
