Description "A Cursed Transformation"

He's one of the few who doesn't like to shift to his "true form"

He doesn't fear it, but he dreads the days when he has to shift. Because each time he does, the human-like flesh peels from his body as his real skin grows underneath, his hardened, armor like skin and scales that is. His muscles also spasm, constantly twisting and tightening to change his body to his true form. His bones break and pull, tearing the sensitive flesh of his human form, only for magic to constantly heal him with his true forms flesh.

His insides he describes as boiling like lava, pain unimaginable courses through his body, from the time his change starts to the time it finishes. After a long agonizing while, he's plagued with blackouts, where he'll lose consciousness and the transformation will stop, until he is conscious again, then the change and pain immediately resumes.

It takes 3 long and brutal days for him to full change to his colossal size. By the time it's all said and done, he's unable to move for 3 more days, until his body has recovered from the stress and sheer agony. And in that time, over those short few days, formations appear on his body, the beginnings of what will be mountains in a few hundred years.

As once he shifts, he's unable to shift back until 1000 years have passed, until he's done his job and has the magic to return to a human like form. The shift back is perhaps the worst part, as the transformation is ten times as fast when reverting, each and every single time, it kills him.

His heart will explode in his chest, he won't have any flesh on his body and he'll be a bloodied body on the floor of wherever he reverts back. But he doesn't stay dead. The magic he had stored and the curse in his bones, bring him back each time. It wouldn't matter if someone ran off with his head, it would dissolve into magic fragments and reattach itself back to his body.

Zeus, once all is said and done, is free from pain and agony, for about 500 years. In that time, mountains have begun to grow on his back, legs, neck and tail. Weighing him down more and more, to the point, by the end of it, his skin sags, curling over his paws and he wheezes terribly. The weight of it all, crushing his bones and body. Causing him to have to stop every so often and take in deep breathes to stay conscious.

It's been known at times, the formations on his body will cover his ears and/or eyes. So all he is left traveling with is scent. Which he knows Xarveidore by heart, so traveling blind isn't a huge issue for him, but just a very annoying one. There was only one time the formations covered his nose, which only lasted a few days, before Zeus managed to claw it off.

Why he doesn't always claw away the formations, is because it's constantly forming and weighing him down, he would end up spending too much time focused on that, instead of just finishing his job and returning to a humanoid form.

Thunder often (in current days) is seen with Zeus during this time, especially during the shifting process. He knows his Father can't die from the brutal process, but he likes to be there anyways, to protect his Father and worry endlessly about him while he shifts.

The first time Thunder had witnessed his Father shift, he was beyond traumatized for years. As he was extremely young at the time and seeing your Father, who you love so much, go through that is not easy. It had caused Thunder to have years of nightmares, after witnessing Zeus change to his true form and back.

A rift had also formed between the two in that first thousand years (of Thunder first seeing his Father shift, not the first time Zeus had shifted), because Thunder ended up so terrified of his Father's colossal size, he'd been completely petrified more than a few times. He was beyond afraid, of being eaten, crushed and he was just all around scared of how ridiculously massive Zeus was.

It took a lot of convincing and work from Ela, thousands of years after the incident, to finally get the Father and Son to bond again.

-
A little fact:

If Zeus was a regular, normal sized, Xanos. He would have the shortest tail of any Xanos. His tail is thick and sturdy, to help him balance.
-
What caused Zeus to end up this way, to have such a brutal cursed change? What did he do that deserved such a punishment?

Nothing.

He was just in the wrong place at the wrong time, when Eva caught him...
