Description This is a scene from my 'New Earth' project (where my Squirebot characters, etc are from).
The guy holding the treaty is Seraph - the Snake Priest character I created a couple of years back, looking slightly different. Wanted to make him look a little more regal considering he's a messiah of sorts.
With him is his faithful awe struck companion, Sokai.
The serpintine creatures he's addressing are Snake Ents (I'll think of something a little more dramatic to call them at some point. XD) And are basically snake people that have successfully reached the penultimate stage of their race's evolutionary course (the next stage is an enchanted tree).

I made some really annoying mistakes that I then had to rectify in the later stages of the pic, but I think it came out okay in the end. My next submission (wip) is the one I most look forward to posting.

XD Thankyou kindly, Uni.
Indeed, the ones you refer to (the Snake Ents) I tried to make em look more intrigued than happy.
Thanks again for the great comment.

Oh yeah, how was your holiday in Japan? I hope you had a brilliant time.

I've been fine thanks Uni, just really busy with jobs around the house and artwork. Funnilly enough, I've just found out my mum and stepdad are considering holidaying in Japan sometime in the summer but they're leaning more towards Egypt. I now have 2 plans of action; persuading them to go for Japan, and then hiding amongst their luggage. XD

XD Unfortunately its far too expensive, plus it'd be unfair to my brother if they only took me along. Its cool though, me and my brother will go there ourselves when finances are better.

Plus its looking like they're going to Egypt instead. *boos at Egypt*

Indeed, it is a fascinating mystical place. Though its not top on my 'list of places to visit'. But still I'm sure they will enjoy themselves.

"Snake Ent" - what an interesting creature.
I like their bamboo-like hair.
...I didn't know they needed a leaf in the bottom too.
Nice 6- I mean, 24-pack ab.

Indeed, I'm most proud of em. They start off as a tree snake, grow limbs and become anthropomorphic (the form depicted in the other pics you've seen) where they become either of the Warrior, Gardener, or Shamanic castes. Two different caste members (particularly exceptional individuals) eventually mate, which then leads to them fusing together and becoming a Snake Ent's predecessor. Then if they're really lucky they'll eventually evolve into a Snake Ent, which when it dies becomes a tree (the ouroboros they follow).
*Phew* Sorry about the Dickens explanation, Snow (I should really have put all that on the picture text).

lmao
Ahh, I love hearing your responses regarding the coverings of 'certain body parts' in some of my pics. XD Guess its as much my trademark/gimmick for doing them as it is yours for mentioning them in that awesome way you do, please don't ever stop.

Yep, thats some hard days workin at the gym to get those bad boys. Feel the burn! XD

Thankyou Snow, as always you is awesome.

lol um, it's not like my eyes are fixated on those certain parts or anything like that!
The leaves are just so amusing every time I see one on your drawing.
I guess it is like your trademark now lol.

lol I'm only messin with you there, my apologies.
A scary prospect would be the possibility of me being the one fixated, y'know in my sub-concious or something....I'm not fixated.XD

They have no gender, so the leaf is merely a sort of pagan symbol.

XD Loincloths and leaves (that'd be a good folder name)
I draw alot of fantasy stuff so thats probably why they creep in.

omg leaf on the junk, i love it! i really really really love the guys in the back, may i have one?

Sinjordan In reply to KimberlySwan [2010-04-06 22:59:38 +0000 UTC]

lmao Hmm, come to think of it, I have no idea myself what that leaf is covering.
I just followed the original design that I did from years ago and included it without a thought.

You love em that much? Well yeah why not, I'll draw you one as a gift. He'll look awesome.
Getting you a real Snake Ent would prove much more difficult however, plus there's also the problem of accomodation, what would the neighbours say? XD

my neighbors could use some excitment, then they wouldnt have to get their pacemakers charged for a while. <.<

Sinjordan In reply to xHaStex [2010-04-06 22:43:50 +0000 UTC]

HaStey, you're one of my best m8s here and an honest supporter of my works. If I'm ever at your neck of the woods at some point, I'll take you out for a pint.

Excellent, I'm glad the small taster text has your interest, I've decided that I wanna put the New Earth works into a sort of portfolio stroke novel (Brom did something similar, and its a great way to merge both the story and artwork).
It's just an idea at the mo, but unlike lots of my other projects (Mage Wars not included) I'm really liking the idea more and more. I've even thought about approaching other artists (yourself included) to provide artwork that'll flesh it out more, as a showcase kinda thing (structures, landscapes, etc). But like I said, its early days yet.

If you think this is a high detail piece, wait til you see what I'll be uploading next. Heheh.
Cheers buddy.

Reikanishy [2010-04-05 23:09:13 +0000 UTC]

I like the way he...looms. o.O Makes me feel a little like maybe the treaty is only that, a treaty? I dunno, pessimistic views of the world of late are clouding my judgement. But damn, the intricate detailing! Blows my little drug addled mind, my friend.

But you blow me anways, y'know that, right? XDDD

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Sinjordan In reply to Reikanishy [2010-04-06 22:29:22 +0000 UTC]

Indeed, at first they regard him as a quite irrelevant young priest, especially since he starts by reading the treaty aloud; forgetting that due to their transcended state, they can't understand a word he's saying. They laugh and jeer at him right up until he silences them all by talking down to them in their own language.

Ah yes, well you're not alone there. This world is really in a sorry state of affairs at the mo, and damn near all the problems point to over-population, and incompetence in government..2 problems that I think mother nature will sort out in the next few years. Witness the extent of my own pessimism. XD

*softly blows against the monitor* XD Cheers m'dears.
