Description
This is just a stand alone image of a "flesh eater" as shown in the other image with no background.
Another Exitus Caeli book in the series and a creature featured in "Leaf Eater" and possibly in "The Last Inspector". They are mobile, carnivorous plants, able to move in quick spurts for a short time or very slowly for longer periods. They hunt in groves (packs) and primarily pursue large, subterranean creatures known as a "diggers". Their style of hunting is inspired by the "weeping angels" from the current-day incarnation on the BBC's "Doctor Who".
This began as a photo I took of an aquarium decoration in Petco. Colors, shapes and shadings were changed, limbs removed and replaced then lichens and vines were added. I'll eventually update this with a more current version of the symbiotic plants that live on it which are stalked flowers with bat-like petals. Their flapping motions are attuned to provide noise cancellation of the "foot steps" of the flesh eater.
There are two other images of flesh-eaters on my page here with more colorful backgrounds that also show the symbiotic creatures. Check them out if you like this one.
