do you take requests? I'm trying to put a concept art together for the setting of a small town in a story.

Thank you Justyna.
This year will bring a lot more maps and architecture.
I'm also doing more perspective views along with the plan views.

That looks like a lovely little place to get away to. It has a nice quiet and isolated feeling and, once they get to know you, I have a feeling that the locals are friendly. Who couldn't be in such a sweet village? Really nice work on the mix of shading styles. Along with the nice little town itself I think it's an interesting area to explore too, probably higher up and with some grand views with just a little more climbing. really nice work on the cloudy sky to add more texture to the contrast for the tower. (It's how low they are plus the sloping that gives me the hills feeling.) Very wonderful and sweet work.

In my mind I envisioned the land rising to the right and going up into the mountains.
I have a penchant for drawing/imagining towns on the edge of nowhere, much as this one is.

Thank you. It would be very cool to illustrate fairy tale places for children's books. I always enjoyed imagining them when I was a kid.

If you find a good writer that wants to get paid for the stories, you can go to a publisher or publish on your own. You never know how successful you might be!

He is just to the right of the watchman's tower on the path, walking away toward the house in the background. He's small so hard to see.

I always have a hard time deciding how I want to do plants.
In the past I have spent far too much time trying to do too much detail and am trying to get better at getting the overall feel without drawing every leaf or blade of grass. I enjoyed the fades with the grass. I suppose it's getting more used to the painting manner coming from more of the drawing style.
[I've been told I talk too much. ]

I could easily see Peter or Stefan Naz working in the top of the Watchman's tower. In the top room with the round window, surrounded by all the tools and gadgets.

morteraphan In reply to SirInkman [2013-08-02 07:13:41 +0000 UTC]

Yes, indeed, it is very similar to Peter!
but his son, Stephen (or Stefan), prefers to live in his airship.

SirInkman In reply to morteraphan [2013-08-02 16:46:33 +0000 UTC]

Well, if I had an airship I'd prefer living in it too. I love airships. That is probably one of my longest existing dreams - to own a small airship and just fly all over the landscape, drawing and enjoying the slow movement in the air.
