Concept note:Well, I guess I have a penchant for reverse phallic imagery
. [link] Concept should be fairly obvious, blablabla, love, I'm silly, etc.
This is actually two pieces, one entitled "Waiting" and the other entitled "On My Way". I'm actually not entirely sure which one is which.
Technical note:
I couldn't get this quite right the first time... this was pretty frustrating for me. A simple texture job, I thought. But apparently I'm not very good with limited palettes, etc. Also, wood textures do strange things sometimes. Did a couple of stock switches, too. Better quality stock helps, even if you're doing a heavily textured job. I did promise myself that I wouldn't indulge in any of that anymore, but the textures were kind of the point...

Gorgeous work! I really love the play of the different textures and color values. She's cool and marbled, he's warm and organic like tree bark.
