Description While touring the Metropolitan Museam of Art in New York City, USA I took photos with my camera.  As I walked past the Modigliani exhibit I took a photo. When I got home and looks at this photo I noticed something erie about some of the  characters. See if it has the same effect on you.  Later when I went back to check on the exhibit, everything looked normal. Must have been the camera lens or something in the air.  Anyway I had a good time at the Met. A Digital painting created using Corel Painter software on a computer attached to a graphic  pad  with a stylus pen. Tap twice on the painting to enlarge and see the details. Ciao.🤠Footnote:Amedeo Clemente Modigliani (12 July 1884 – 24 January 1920) was an Italian painter and sculptor worked mainly in France. He is known for portraits and nudes in a style characterized by a surreal elongation of faces, necks, and figures that were not received well during his lifetime, but later became much sought-after.I knew that I wanted to make a humorous painting  from the photo.  The faces of the two portrait s of the women were replaced  and constructed and painted from other Modigiani portraits that were more attractive and better defined.  The Modigliani  hand sculptured stone statue on the pedestal did not have eyes until I added them to make them look to side towards the woman in back of him. Modigliani did not detail the eyes of many of his paintings leaving them as opaque slots, so I had to search around to find examples of eyes that he had painted to find ones consistent with his style of portraits. It took a while to get the eyes focused on the woman observer. The woman observer did not exit in the photo and was painted using two toned so as not to distract attention from the artwork. All in all it was challenging and fun to paint. In the larger full scale painting on the wall the eyes and faces of the portraits will become more obvious. Thank you for your interest.  🤠
