Description Here you go, folks, the low down on Requin, the shark man, posting some of his stats, including strength level and resistance to depth pressure.

Note, Requin can go twice the depth that a modern nuclear attack submarine can dive (2400 feet) - meaning that he can take a ton of pressure - pounds per square inch - rendering him difficult to injure short of an explosive shell.

Throw in fantastic hand-to-hand capabilities for his size, and senses which can track people by smell on dry land and see in all but the deepest darkness, and you have a smart, capable combatant whose only weakness is that he's holding back from just slaughtering folks with the power of his jaws.

"he's holding back from just slaughtering folks with the power of his jaws" - Why? I mean, any particular story behind that?

Well, humans just ain't as tasty to his tastebuds.  I also think he might have the ban of the Impergium placed inside of his head.

Hmm... I'm wondering, is he a salt water or sea water wereshark? ^^

Skaramine In reply to Speedslide [2010-09-26 00:18:34 +0000 UTC]

He can handle fresh water just fine - a la the bull sharks, but even something as thick as the Dead Sea or The Great Salt Lake might be tough even for him.

Heather, if you're referring to the Savage Dragon villain, your coolness points just exploded off the scale. ^_^

Thank you!

Awe I remember seeing some savage dragon stuff ages ago but I was in fact referring to Captain Mako, one of the signature npc villains from City of Heroes/Villains. So coolness points down... and Geek points up. hehe

It's been months since I'd played CoH/CoV, and I didn't know the shark man's name. I love him!

In fact, I was going to restart and refresh my City of Heroes so I could make Requin.

He seems like he would make a good wingman for Diago, both 7-foot tall intelligent animal people.

I like it!

I've loved Diago for a while, man. If Req survives, he'll definitely go scouting loose women and good beer with him afterward.

Looks like we have a real contender for one of the powerhouses of the tournament here.

I hope so. All I know is that a couple of DA's powerhouses ( and ) have done some art for him.

excellent! i've been watching shark week this past week and i was actually hoping someone would create a character for this fighting tournament that was a shark! how awesome is that?!

Skaramine In reply to bogmonster [2010-08-08 19:28:24 +0000 UTC]

I'm glad to have obliged, my friend. There's never enough aquatic heroes for my taste, and man, sharks just come out as such a great basis for a superhero.

His inspiration came from a painting by Daniel LuVisi.

A great white wearing power armor, a US flag, and battling giant worms with "Nemo" as his shoulder co-pilot?

Nothin' like a straightforward, ocean-based brick. No animal control, but still dangerous.
