#5: Mega Man - Mega Man(series)

Rock. The Blue Bomber. Super Fighting Robot; Megaman. Whatever you wanna call him, this little blue Astroboy wannabe is what made me love Capcom at a young age (and subsequently hate them for refusing to do anything with him for years) True, the games are hard as Hell and beat you down without a care, but I love them just the same. Yet somehow, like many things, despite my love of it I've done little to no fanart of it, depsite the series heavily inspiring my art... odd.

Megaman always kind of intrigues me in that it sort of takes it's own identity outside of the games. The characters are all very well remembered and liked and stories about the persist while the actual games take kind of a backseat to all the lure that's present behind the scene of those old retro games; which I'm fine with because while they never really showed them IN game, the series had a really fun, interesting story.

Megaman captivated me at a very young age, even though I never beat a single one until I was into my 20's and while I think the X series is what really got me into the series, but I think the original will always be the best. A lot of the other forms just really got away from themselves and many I just flat out hate. It's a shame that such a quintessential icon of gaming has gotten so low due to it's own company. Here's hoping the new one will be good, but hey. If it's not... it's better then nothing, right?
