This is a little something for since today is her birthday.Gosh, I havent drawn anything in so long. I've been way too busy with work to stop and pick up a pencil to do a serious picture. SO I feel like my skills have gone down drastically. That plus the fact that I dont draw females all that well ;^;
I'm sorry that its not the best Mai >~< but I wanted to be able to at least give you something.
I hope you have a wonderful day and that its full of happiness and love. That you get to spend time with those you love and do fun things 8D I wish I could be there to celebrate it with you. Happy Birthday~!

The little braids are so cute! Sometimes I miss having long hair because I could do fun stuff like that with it T_T
I adore the soft shading you used on this and the way the lines are sort of a reddish color instead of black complements the rest of the colors so well!

Lol, actually, I'm more not-excited to graduate, haha. I like school and seeing my friends every day and not having that much actual responsibility xD *is such a big kid still* First, I'm going to sleep for about three days. Then I'm hoping to have a few weeks off and after that to start a real job. That would be very nice.

Your skills will change but never completely disappear-- however, it's hard to deal with ourselves drawing in new/different way when we're so used to the way we used to do something. We fear that we have forgotten something important. But it's still there; I promise. We can't expect things to work out the way we want them to or hope they do in their time. We can only really appreciate that we're still around to watch ourselves change. So you'll get back in the drawing -- (I hope!!) -- because it really is a huge part of you, and that's not something you should abandon easily. A lot of very famous people thought that they didn't have much to live for, or that the dreams they love were just dreams. There is an infinite chance of so many things to simutaneously happen all at once -- it's kind of amazing what God can do. Too bad we can't see it for ourselves!
Anyways, I think it's sweet that you drew a picture for your friend on her birthday! I'm a big fan of the two-braids thing... it's a look I've always liked. Is this her character, or based on one? I dunno; I personally think she's cute! And the red glasses are way cool ^___^ I'm glad to see any evidence that you are still around! I look forward to what the future will bring for you!

As for your question, her name is Mairu Orihara and she's one of Izaya's twin sisters from Durarara. My friend rps her so I thought it was fitting to draw Mairu for her :3 I'm glad you like her ^^ she is a very cute if not devious character (like her brother haha xD;
