Description so my head canon that lead to this relatively awful drawing:

When Rose Tyler was in primary school -- kindergarten age -- her class visited the school library. That day in the library there was a substitute librarian who said his name was Mr. Smith. rose went about as normal and perused the library, staring at the multiplicity of shelves looking for a book. she looked and looked but nothing sparked her interest. she walked over to Mr. smith and asked, "I don't know what book to read. do you have any suggestions?". Mr. Smith looked down at the little girl and grinned. "I've got just the thing. I'll be right back." he said. He quickly turned and walked off in his sandshoes. Rose waited patiently until he came back with a blue book in his hands. He handed the book to her. "Here, Rose, you'll like this one. It's called the, 'The Little Blue Box and The Big Bad Wolf". Rose took the book and didn't notice the fact that he knew her name when she had never told it to him. "Thank you, Mr. Smith." she smiled and he looked down at her, "Oh! And you don't have to check that out. it's not from the library. Well, not from this library." Mr. Smith frownedΒ  sadly for a second remembering the library where he had gotten the book and who he had lost there. "You can keep it."Β  Rose beamed and skipped off, plopping down on the sofa. She opened the book to find beautiful hand drawn illustrations of a pretty blonde girl, a funny looking man in a leather jacket who had large ears, and outer space. She was awestruck by the illustrations and found the weird circular doodles in the margins to be rather fascinating. As the years went by, Rose forgot about the book. By the time she went on her adventures with the Doctor she had forgotten about Mr. Smith and the book entirely. Sometimes her adventures felt like de ja vu and she felt like she recognized things she shouldn't recognize. But she were to go back to her bedroom on earth, deep under her bed, beneath the clutter was a blue book full of stories about the Bad Wolf.

It's not awful at all. It's great! As well as the backstory.
