Reverie is a very curious girl that gets very absorbed once she's onto something, however when it comes to things she's not interested, it only takes 5secs for her attention to land on something else.
Though she does try to change the habit, it's still hard for her to concentrate on things she's not interested in.
Perhaps due to being curious-driven, she can be very nonchalant about the other things, some might even consider her actions to be cold-hearted. To make it worse, her being insensitive to other people's concern, and she never even bothers to explain herself. Though it takes time for her to actually come to care about a person, once she does she'd actually put effort into caring them.

Because of her curiousity, she's often distracted and strayed from her parents when she was little. Her then-little wings would often times bring her far off and she'd find herself sitting somewhere in the middle of the wilderness, eating mud. Though she is quite a carefree person, rarely worried about the situation, and perhaps happy-go-lucky does bring her some level of luck, instead of starving to death in the wild she instead became quite adaptive to any environment.

Reverie's got lost from her own parents when she was young, drifted along the oceans for days and by some miraculous luck, ended up on a shore saved by a mermaid named Nyx Viometh.
As per usual she pestered the mermaid into reluctantly adopting her, not knowing her parents were still alive as the mermaid thought they were dead and couldn't bear to dig deep into the 'sensitive topic' (until Rev brought it up in a shocking revelation, decades later).
The mermaid was a scholar working in a higher position of the government of a mermaid country Lunaerheim, they then acted as both Reverie's parent and her teacher. It wasn't an easy task, Reverie's only receptive to the topics she's interested in and gets distracted easily otherwise, which was probably the reason why she drifted miles away from her own parents in the first place.

After years of wrestling knowledges and common-sense into her, Rev is now considered by the others as the apprentice of the Nyx, often seen running errands for Nyx and even receive some minor missions for Lunaerheim. Somewhere along the line she's even made friends (?) with a spirit who called themselves Otogi, and later on she's even joined the protectors together with Otogi for a while but never actually participated in any major missions cuz, the topics didn't interest her enough. She might've been present, but probably was somewhere outside studying the geographical space or the locales' status of food chain instead of providing actual aid.

Recently, though, near the end of Lannanin, the group of rebels in Lunaerheim planned to ruin an important bi-annual ceremony, an important event that Lunaerheimian celebrates once every other year. As Rev saw how Nyx was burnt out by trying to manage the event, she contacted her human friend whom she met a few years ago and asked if they've got any connections that might help. The red-haired human then sent another mermaid protector to help, and long story short the problem was solved not long after some lot of troubles.

However, this event wasn't the main topic for Reverie; the mermaid protector brought an interesting piece of information:
The might be heading to earth soon.

After the protectors left with his friends, Nyx's frown deepens and led to a frustrated sigh, as Rev's been staring with sparkly eyes for hours and days.

And as per usual, of course Nyx eventually allowed Reverie to join this possible trip to a whole new world.

They appears to be strict and unforgiving but actually caring.
They work as a high-rank officials of Lunaerheim, often seen handling tasks given by the leader of the country, but prefers to do their own scientific research. Owns a library that is partially open to public, though Rev roams freely around.
When Rev revealed her parents were actually alive, Nyx gave Rev a whole month of stern lecture alternating with cold-shoulder and silent treatment, demanded Reverie to return to her parents though unwilling to part themself.
After month-long of coaxing and months more of self-reflecting from Reverie, she managed to coax Nyx back to their usual mood and to allow her to stay, with condition being she had to spend some time every month at least with her actual parents.

Though the human's shadiness did not deter her, the human being human itself was already an interesting enough topic. And apparently, this elf being such a friendly(?) elf was also interesting to the human, and naturally the two became fast friend.

That aside, Reverie felt like she's seen that face before, somewhere in a photo of... one of the people that lives in Lunaerheim. Someone might've taken a photo of him, or someone that looks like him....? Oh well.
