Description I picked up this object d' Art on e-bay recently; it seems it has a significant amount of spiritual dark energy associated with it. Created several hundred years before the rise of the Roman Empire, it was said that the serpents encrusting the top of this ceremonial helmet could regenerate when needed, supposedly protecting the wearer on his/her trip into the afterlife. This is, of course, a reproduction of the legendary headware, because real serpents wouldn't still be in such....good.....condi..tion....moist........you know, ..........because ..............

OK, I made the whole thing up, more gooey skull fun using these raw materials [link] and my trusty camera

That was one of my favorites, too.
One of the less stinky photo shoots, if memory serves

Thanks - I wouldn't know how to accomplish the surface texture, but I think I could give it a shot

gwarmor13 In reply to skulpturro [2008-02-20 05:38:21 +0000 UTC]

It wouldn't be too hard, probably a cut down chip brush for the porous skull and simply leaving it smooth for the worms. Then once it's painted apply copious high-gloss acrylic clear coating. It would be a hell of a piece!

My first expression was something along the lines

"Oh dear god dont let that be a sculpture"

And really, a bunch of meat and... wait a second... where the hell do that piggy bank(?) enter the picture?

I love the photo, even if it leaves me with a slight feeling of fear and hunger. Wait? Even if... durr. I love this because it DO give me some kind of feeling and impression. This is something I will still remember even when I am not looking at it. It's a photo I am going to want to see again, hence the love and that fact I wouldnt want to loose something like this, I'll put it in my favs. You've got an extrordinary feeling for detail and your imagination (desc. to this photo = love) is lovely, and it also gives me as a viewer the chance to read my own things in this.

Like, meaty snakes on a helmet. Seriously. Who WOULDNT want one? Either as a companion, scare-away for the enemy or simply to breake one of the wiggling things of, an easy snack on the way.

Saw that you got a D&D on another picture, and that's the way I got here. X) That sculpture was lovely too, but this one really caught my eye.

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

skulpturro In reply to Starcrozz [2006-08-06 17:23:28 +0000 UTC]

I'm glad I ticked your imagination. A helmet wasn'r really what I had in mind from the start, but it seemed to make better sense logistically at the end. A happy accident, considering that I couldn't really put together enough interesting angles to do a "meat Teddy Bear" like I originally intended.
I think your impulse to eat the helmet would have faded if you had been with me as I cleaned the tuna from the piggybank with hot water

Thanks again for the comment, most entertaining!!

mmmyup.
i'm pretty easily entertained, fo-sho.
i sit and watch C-SPAN!
hee hee.
i don't know.
i just like making fun of people's gestures.
there was this one fellow who always held his hands up as if cradling a small, fat dog.
sometimes he would pet it.
sometimes he would hit it.
sometimes he would put it down.
there was this other fellow who always seemed to be describing a tremendous length of sausage.

skulpturro In reply to djyturz [2006-05-01 17:44:16 +0000 UTC]

I thought C-Span was a skull measurement.
And yes, nothing like mocking old, fat, white men with their bobbling jowls and inner-tube neck fat rolls.
That used to be one of my favorite past times in Church services.

Seriously, this is amazing. I'm in awe of your skill (and paitence). I looked at the erm raw materials and I could see how you'd used them to make the finished result, but I'd have never thought to do it like that, or even been able to if I had.

I bow to your skill.

Oooh lovely pinkiness.....It makes me think of intestines and soft young virginal flesh. Did I say that out loud?

How many people have mentioned the snakes resemblance to Ridley Scott's Alien...or should I say HR Giger's alien? Perhaps it's the lack of eyes that does it. Or the mouth full of teeth...lol

This makes me think of alot of things actually: Probes (dont ask), Sexual organs (Again dont ask..lol), Amoeba, The Medusa, The little bumps one finds on the inside of our intestenal system that help push food down...like lots of tiny little fingers , It also make me think of the movie "tremors"... and hot dogs

Great work as always.... Food for thought

Virginal flesh? Or was that Vaginal flesh? Whooooooo Hooooooooooooo!!!!!!!! It's old pervert hour for the both of us!
Who would've thought a piggy bank stuffed with tuna could produce such opportunity.

I'll take my food for thought with a dash of garlic powder and a slice of lime

utarefson670 In reply to skulpturro [2006-03-13 08:58:04 +0000 UTC]

Ha ha ha ha.... I thought I smelt something fishy. I'm never suspected it was the tuna.

Yes opportunities arise from the most mundane of objects, especially in your hands. I wonder what other everyday items you will transform next. I can't wait.
