Don't be silly, you have plenty of skills. Now, if I were you, I'd plop that deer down right between some candles (next to the oija (sp?) boartd and snap a picture. Just a thought. Glad you liked my little decorated raccoon skull!!

I still love this one! I liked the other lighting more, though, it fit the mood of the piece better. Still, good work.

Interesting comment- The other photographic setting was less than optimum, but I am going to try a few more lighting combinations - good input ! Thx!

I think the other setting lent to the feeling of the piece more than this does...

This is the same one I had posted before, I just reshot it under ultraviolet light for a different look. Thought I would spruce up my gallery a bit! Thanks as always, dear.

this piece is absolutly beautiful, i agree that it does indeed look like an old tribal decoration, it also reminds me of the pirate vermin in the redwall books. because im a dork.
anyways. gets a +fav from me.
where do you get your skulls from?

skulpturro In reply to julip [2004-02-11 00:32:25 +0000 UTC]
I have collected them since I was 10. Sometimes I get fresh road kill ( i stake it down on the ground at my work and let nature do its thing), other times just heads or nearly clean skulls from kids or coworkers. And your assesment of the skull is pretty much what I was shooting for!! This is a reshoot of this skull under ultra violet light!

yeah, i liked it under non-uv as well, i could get a better grasp of the details, but the uv gives it a cool ethereal ghostly spirit look

that's creative, to say the least...
damn. spiffy...
makes me want to go and dig up my turtle!!
that must have taken a lot of time.
looks like an old heathen decoration, perhaps to be worn around the neck or put upon a stick to shake at people.
amazing!

Raving compliments generally make me think that my mother has snuck into DA to compliment me in cognito.....ya know, art only a mother could love......I know, I'm wierd and confusing. Those are pretty much my trademarks here. Along with drama, insanity, and Hyperactivity. Oh, yeah, depression, suicidal tendencies and cuddliness...

ah, okeedokee.
well, i'm chock full of not-so-spontaneous combustions of wackiness myself. hmm, cuddliness?
sounds like you've had some complex experiences through life.
me, (and i like to talk about myself ALOT) i'm just amorphous at this point. roller-coaster emotions, but mind is rather sound, so i'd like to believe.
really enjoy your creativity, i does.
hope you keep it up!
it's a wonderful outlet, i've found.

I have a sound mind too, like pffffffffffffffffffeeeeeeeeetetetetetete and mbmbmbmbmbmbmb, sometimes wakakakakaka. I'm extremely emotional, so I can go from kinda cerebral to sarcastic to pissed to affectionate (cuddliness). That's why I call people sweety and dear and that kinda stuff.

hah hah hah! damn, damn you.
lately i've been taken to using terms of endearment on my younger sister, who treats me like an incompetent and always tells me what to do.
my little peach blossom.
of course, a few days ago i called her " my unpluck'd cherry."
afterwards, she stopped telling me what to do!
man, screechy would love you.
