Description Acalanthis -

Full view essentiel for all details.

Around 24 hours seperated over 3 weeks with around 54 layers in total.

No fancy nebula this time, just a big planet with 2 smallers ones and some gas clouds. I think the big planet turned out real well and Im very proud with it

(no 3ds max used, 100% from the scratch in photoshop)

Beautiful, and bright, extremely bright. Nice touch adding those star shapes, they look like moving stars, whizzing, on some protection or power telepathy. Guardian stars.

real nice, though i have one small nitpick D, the planets seemed to be washed out in light, IMO, it doesn't look quite right, the light source is behind the planet, so it shouldn't be washed out in that light. All the other aspects of the picture is very done nicely, I might want to try using one of your backrounds, and render one of my star trek ships with it. with your permission of course

Sweet job. Great textures on the planets, and you've always pulled off those space gas effects superbly. Awesome work.

Wish I had PhotoShop... wanted to do a space series based around known exoplanets but my skills are too rubbish and my expectations too high.

Also i love the way you made the star light appear, could you by anychance share your method for that?

skurvy In reply to Hydratusk [2003-10-29 12:40:34 +0000 UTC]

it is very easy actually, once you know it. I might throw in a small tut for it when my site opens

Your building a site, or have you already built it and just trying to find a good host server, or did you build a site took it down and revamped it now you are going to reinstate it?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

skurvy In reply to Hydratusk [2003-10-30 15:42:54 +0000 UTC]

I got a host, and someone whos designing it for me which (I guess) is done now, so Ill just put all info into it, load it up and make some stuff for the opening (tuts and stuff)

Hydratusk In reply to skurvy [2003-11-02 09:45:53 +0000 UTC]

sounds like fun, so is this person just designing it or is the person doing the coding aswell?

Nice, but the only thing that bugs me are the stars and that gas at the bottom left, like the light source tho.

I dont want to be rude or anything and I know its hard to believe, but some people actually have their own technique of creating planets, and some space artists dont copy other artists techniques.

thanks, you didnt hurt me but some people always compare space work with greg martin and that pisses me off, because there are plenty of great ones

Wow, the colors are so damn beautiful once again. That really neat looking black formation in the bottomleft corner really looks like a black hole. And I can't even understand that how can someone create black hole-typish things. Shouldn't they be totally black? but i seem to see that beautiful black hole over there. Man your so good at this
Really wonderful!
