American Eagle:

Gravonite: This strange and unusual mineral discovered on an uncharted island deep within the epicenter of the Bermuda Triangle holds uncharted potential. It's strength is untested, and it's antigravity properties are amazing. When struck with electrical current, the mineral reacts and causes weightlessness effects. Samuel Stone was able to remove samples and converted them into wings and various close quarters weaponry. Using this mineral allows Samuel Stone, as the American Eagle to float effortlessly in our atmosphere, as if he were in space. The Mineral is so sensative to electrical current, that even standing still, Sam's electrical body energy causes him to float off the ground. A series of batteries in the jetpack offers Sam's control over his wings, and the electricity causes the metal to loose it's weight, making his wings as light as a single feather. This also has the added advantage of making the American Eagle super fast when reacting to danger. His talon claws are indestructible, and his guantlets and wings can deflect any bullets and bombardment.

Gravonite has the ability to disrupt magnetic equipment, and is a tell tell sign as to how close by the American Eagle is. It is also the reason the Triangle is such a torrent of strange energies, the large meteorite lodged in the center of the island reacts with sunlight and gives off strange effects, causing disasters to machinery..The small amounts employed by the American Eagle have no effect thus far..

D-Day, the men are charging the beach at Normandy, bullets are flying.. you look up at the sun, just as you see a silhouette of a bird like man flying in the apex of the sunlight with a small trail of smoke from the jet pack on his back, you hear men shouting, the American Eagle is here!!! Cheers sound as bombs hit the dirt, and the American Eagle lands on the ruins of a large artillery gun emplacement, the smoke catches the wind and moves to show the shinning helmet of the American Eagle...

Bullets fire in his direction, and he raises his arms with the Gravonite metal, forged into wings and deflect the bullets, as he leaps in the direction of the hail of gunfire and slashes the Nazi soldiers...quickly he launches a grenade into the bunkered guns, and shoots skyward just as swiftly as he had landed...a blast ensues and we cut to a shot of soldiers cheering as they over run the gun emplacements.. in the sky a shot of the American Eagle with a smirk, shouting to the crowd of soldiers as he swiftly flies by their charging run, "Onward men, to Freedom and Glory!!!!!"

The American Eagle: 1940's

Samuel Stone was a thrill seeker and made a fortune in the 1920's stock market, just before the fateful crash.. He invested heavily into new technology, steel production, and war technology. He could not have foreseen the eventual need for his new inventions, until the day that World War II began.

While flying his private Prop plane over an island south of Bermuda a strange reaction to his instruments begun to disrupt them intensely. His compass went crazy and his electrical systems began to falter. His plane was going down. Crash landing just off the shore of the island, and landing with his pontoons intact, Sam made his way into the jungle to search for something that could have caused his Planes malfunction..

In a clearing there was a shinny glowing material littering the ground, and a large protruding rocky mass unnaturally springing from the ground. Sam had discovered a rare meteorite mineral, this mineral when combined with small amounts of electrical current would, in fact, hover above the ground.. the Sun must have hit the meteorite and given it surprising powers, and that would explain it's effect on his Plane. Taking this sample and leaving the island Sam was intent on forging this metal into a wing design and suit. Dubbing the Meteorite material as Gravonite, because of it's unique anti gravity and surprisingly powerful strength. It took his refinery machines immense heat to melt the meteorite material down to forge into weaponry.

Sam was inspired by his fellow friend and inventor Anthony Powers, and joined the Super Soldiers of Victory to fight along side Major Valor as the American Eagle, Champion of Freedom!!

The American Eagle costume also sports a pair of Gravonite Talons and feet claws, which he uses in battle, the arm Talons retract into the fore-arm of his suit when not in use.. the same for his wings, which retract into themselves and leave a smaller wing under his arms for movement within small places. Sam's metal company and factory was used to secretly create these parts of his costume..

Sam Stone is a millionaire, and thrill seeker, his passion is to fly. With the aide of the meteor mineral wings, his body becomes effortlessly immune to earth's gravity, allowing Sam to fly as easy as a bird.. on his back is a small jet booster which allows him to reach great speeds when in the air, his helmet has wings on the head plate to guide him through air currents.. Sam Stone is a Master of martial arts, Boxing and has great agility, but is not enhanced by any other means, then by the strange Meteorite wings he possesses..

Although exposure in the long term to the meteorite may overtime have strange effects on Sam's body.. the result has yet to be seen...
