The car has otherwise aggressive look, but the tail lights together with the trunk hatch (?) look like a :> smiley. Was this intended?

That's awesome. My favorite part of the SUV is how the bottom contour between the two tires flow up to the "A pillar" all they way to the "C pillar!"
