ahaha! YES, finally. Don't ask me how many hours I spent on this... the answer will depress me.Anyhow, this is a Fan Art for the show Mushishi. The character you see here is Nui. She was instantly one of my favorite characters from the show, even though she only made a real appearance on one episode. I've always wanted to do a portrait for her so I sat down one day and (over the series of many months) painted one.
I could have uploaded this some time last week but unfortunately photoshop crashed on me when I was finishing the background and the leaves/branches. so I had to start over again with that.
I took liberties with the design of a mushi, I couldn't really find any really standard mushi (that weren't just worm shapes). So what you see here is a cross between a jelly fish and some sort of bug. I've decided that it's "special ability"/ effect on humans is procrastination...
I'd also like to thank everyone for the helpful critiques and ~Enchantedgal-Stock for the lovely pattern I used on Nui's kimono.
Anyhow I hope you enjoy!

Think, the Brave Little Toaster.
And all of his friends.
They will find you where you sleep.
And then, that's it.
No more you.
No more me.
Its just them.
So dont say I didn't warn you when your toaster burns your bagels, dude.
Riots against machines can only turn out horrible, terribly wrong.

well for Seeking Ginko I was using a really old version of photoshop... and by really old I mean it was my dad's from when he first got that particular Mac (so probably more than 5 years out of date) but this summer I've been working with photoshop CS. It's amazing how much easier it is to paint with the new photoshop. like a dream. You're leaving today for JMU? oh molls. Are you going to buy that print? I've had it ordered for a while now. Shall I send it to you?

Photoshop. I wish I had that program on my lap top. My Papa installed PaintShop which I have no clue how to use.

photoshop is beautiful, I likes it. And it's making your card look very posh if I do say so myself... but that just might be my bias to a certain someone I've inserted in there OHOHOH! Paintshop? huh, well I'm curious as to how that works. Is it kind of similar?

wonderfully posh card is coming as soon as I finish it. I'm like a third of the way done with it. 
Maybe there is a tutorial online that might help you figure out paintshop? I'll be on a lookout for a good one.

I KNOW! surprise right? hee hee but thank you! personally my favorite part of this artwork is the branches. I've never done really legit branches before, especially the ones in the foreground so I'm a little proud. Not gonna lie. haha... I'm lame. I know.

haha, well thank you so much! I tried really hard. It's funny but when I was painting her face earlier on I thought I was finished but my brother came up behind me and said "you know you didn't even add any shadow from where her hair goes over her face."
so I had some help
