I was too excited so I started painting this. I'm trying a different technique for painting in this one. I'm laying out all of my values and then I'm going to add color later. Value is very important with my work and I want to be able to focus on it more. I'm also a little faster with this technique than I was with the way I was painting before. So far anyways. I'll have to work on both paintings simultaneously. I really want to finish the other one too.If you want to see more of my art visit:

I was completely self taught until this past spring where I took a few basic art classes. I'm trying to get a Bachelor's degree in Art.

It's all about practice and persistence my friend! I've only recently got comfortable with painting digitally. You have to start somewhere. I know everyone says it, but it's true. My old stuff, even from a year ago, isn't as good as what I'm making now. Be consistent. Even if it's just drawing a doodle for the day. I remember being 15/16 years old and looking at other artists work and wishing I could paint like them, and now I'm finding myself being proud of what I'm making and it's as if I've reached a level I've worked so hard to get to. Pursuing art is a long process, but it's worth it. Keep at it. Art classes definitely help. Good luck to you!

Sketching is always great, don't be afraid to explore other things though. Art is such a broad subject and there are so many things you can do with it. Especially if you want to make it your career. However I'm always an advocate of art. If you love to do it, then do it. Even as just a hobby. It's a beautiful thing to do and it's very self rewarding.
