Oy. I tried a new technique with this one, where I painted in the basic values first, then colorized. I know that it can help with composition and whatnot, since the values can help make or it for a painting. So I thought I'd give it a go.

I'm not sure I'll be doing it again. I think what I'll probably do is make an adjustment layer that I'll show and hide periodically as I go, because it was hell to color it and make it look like I wanted.

So that's the story behind the process for this one. I'm happy enough with how it turned out, but it took me a lot longer than it usually would to paint.

If anybody has any tips on colorizing value paintings, by all means let me know your secrets.

Was going for a retro, flapper-esque feel for her styling and features.
