I was on my way to work early in the morning this morning and I've never seen such fog! We hardly get it where I live.So beautiful yet creepy.
I understand why they use it throughout the Silent Hill series now, for that effect of the fear of the unknown.

I've been obsessed With ghost Towns and Insane asylums for a while now,I've always loved the creepiness and quiet loneliness of
how a town that was once so full of energy,becomes so quiet and
dead. Like Centralia PA,the real Silent Hill! The town that was once full of life, but now it's burning been for over 50 years. It's amazing how such a beautiful thing becomes so,disturbingly abandoned by the people who once lived there.

Another weird thing is that the town that Silent hill is based off on has morning fog every day. Probably they used the fog because the town it is based on has a lot of it.

Wow. This is the kind of mood I'm trying to set for my story. Just because I drew inspiration from video games i hope it won't seem unoriginal. This is a beautiful shot and eerie too. I'd only want to be there if i have a handgun and pocket radio. And the fog and darkness helped the game out with the restrictions in polygons or something. A nice innovatice touch if you ask me. like RE's pre-rendered backgrounds.

yes, very ><;;; I have a loft bed, so I always have nightmares of those spider-like creatures just appearing out of a crack in the wall... so scary! ><

They also used fog in the original silent hill because it reduced the pixel count allowing their character model graphics to look better. I'm a nerd, I know.

i live off a fairly large lake in Ohio (USA)main part of town kinda thing yet smaller town..still the ratio of building placement and open land not good right here but else where near by might be good..but pretty creepy to go to when its heavy fog
