Description So testing out something new.

Rendering models normal in daz can take anything from 10 mins to an hour or 2 depending on what im doing with it.

to cheat ive done models with photo backrounds. This cuts down rendering time, but makes the models stick out like a sore thumb.

So im expermenting with something. Daz gives you the option to render in cartoon form. And with a little messing in photoshop i can change a photo to be abit cartoony.
The master plan is to hopefully find a tutorial or figure out myself the best way to turn photos cartoony, and then hopefully blur the model with photo like this one, but better.

This would be a huge cutdown on time it takes for my pc to sort its life out, and would mean hopefully more stuff getting posted, since im horrbily lazy at putting new things up.

It looks like something out of the video game Borderlands. I like it and I'd like to see what direction you take it in.

naw i quite like it. it looks good like that. the photo background makes the model become the main focus and makes her stand out.

That's a pretty neat effect, reminds me of games like Team Fortress 2 or No More Heroes in terms of style.

I get what you're trying to accomplish, but her placement in the background doesn't really look like she's standing on the ground or any specific distance in front of the background. Keep it up though, I'd like to see what you can do with this.

Hmm, interesting. I use photo backgrounds with my DAZ rendered figures and I've never felt like it was a compromise or undesirable practice. Looking at other people's work, it's never bothered me to see digital people in a real environment, as long as the perspective, scale and lighting are reasonably accounted for. I think digitally rendered environments look much more fake and distracting, unless they're done with extraordinary Industrial Light & Magic skill levels.

I don't know whether I have a knack for using photo backdrops successfully, or if what I'm doing maybe bugs everybody but me.

I like it. Can't wait to see what you decide on. It'll be interesting.
