This house was across the driveway from the house I lived in high school. Most of the time I remember, a couple that were members of my parent's MYF group came from Vermont and helped us get the dairy farm established. One goal was for Steve to get Indiana residency so that he could afford to go to veterinarian school which he did and has been a vet in Vermont for a long time.

This house looks really bad on the outside. I'm pretty sure both buildings are abandoned. One real estate agent inferred that the person that owned the property was probably older and now in an assisted living or nursing home situation. She wrote a letter to the address associated with the property. Perhaps in a few weeks we'll hear if the property could be bought.

I'm thinking that the property might be a good place for a recovery project. It's just a vague idea right now, but it could be practical. The 6ish acres are appraised at $140k which is pretty low I thought. Indiana property taxes are weird so that the tax appraisal doesn't usually match the buy-out price of land.

It might just be nostalgia and wanting to rebuild something that was never there but it touch my heart deeply.
