Description Music: The Tall Man by Lucus King

In Scotland, there is a mountain called Ben Macdui. Known for its pristine slopes and breathtaking views, hikers flock to it annually to enjoy the beauty of nature. But when heavy fog that is characteristic of so much of Scotland overtakes this mountain pass, it takes on a much different tone. Ever since the 19th century, hikers caught in the mist on Ben Macdui, have reported seeing an ominous figure lurking in the mist with them. They call this presence, Am Fear Liath Mor. The Big Grey Man.
Am Fear Liath Mor has always been spotted at a distance so that its silhouette is the only thing visible and most of the time it heard rather than seen. With most encounters only being witnesses hearing the sounds of large footsteps following them through the mountain. Even then, eyewitnesses have reported it to be around 3.2 meters (10 feet) tall, broad-shouldered, and covered in hair. From that description alone, you may think that the Grey Man is a Scottish Bigfoot. But rather than a flesh and blood creature, the Grey Man appears to be more like a ghost. Only seen on Ben Macdui, and only ever in the fog.

Edit notes: Changed this one up a lot because I felt like the original was seriously underdeveloped in terms of quality.

I recently discovered this eerie creature, and I have read a "rational explanation" of its appearance, which is more interesting than disappointing actually : At such a high altitude, at some moments of the day, the sunlight might be more horizontal than vertical, and, like a natural projector, project the enlarged shadow of a hiker on the thick fog which acted like a screen, thus creating the illusion of a ghostly and giant humanoid silhouette in the mist ! This doesn't explain the footstep sounds, but it gave me a design idea for the Grey Man

Funny how I'm from Scotland, read quite a few books about Scottish myths and never heard of Am Fear Liath Mor.

It’s a pretty obscure legend

Aye there doesn't seem to be many stories attached to him that would make him stand out like Mothman.
